EyeCare Partners LLC (ECP) has acquired three independent optometry practices, one in Alabama and two in Georgia, according to an announcement this week. They are:
Potter Eye Care, a Decatur, Ala., practice of Dr. Dale Potter, OD;
Elan Eye, an Atlanta-area practice of Dr. Chad Poole, OD, and
Sharper Vision Eye Care, the Duluth, Ga., practice of Dr. Mark Gottlieb, OD. With the addition of these three practices, ECP’s current sites of service stands at 289, according to the company. ECP is backed by the private equity firm
FFL Partners.

CEI Vision Partners (CVP), an ophthalmology services organization, announced this week that it has added
Retina Vitreous Associates (RVA) of Toledo, Ohio, as its newest partner practice under the CVP platform. RVA is a vitreoretinal surgical practice with nine ophthalmologists who specialize in medical and surgical retinal disorders, including diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, retinal vascular disease, diabetic macular edema and other retinal conditions. RVA serves patients from 10 locations throughout northwest and central Ohio, according to the announcement.

Abrams Eye Institute, marking its initial move into the Nevada market, according to an announcement this week. American Vision Partners, a private-equity backed practice management organization, and
Southwestern Eye Center, an affiliate of American Vision Partners, said late last week they have established a “strategic partnership” with Mesa, Ariz.-based McDougal Eye Center. “The affiliation of the two businesses will improve the quality of care for patients in the Mesa area by bringing more comprehensive vision care services to the community,” American Vision said in its announcement. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

PHILADELPHIA—
Vantage EyeCare LLC, which now calls itself the largest private ophthalmology group in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware with 45 locations and more than 100 ECPs staffing its portfolio practices, this week announced it has agreed to acquire three additional eyecare groups in its mid-Atlantic operating area. The three additions are:
Horizon Eye Care (six locations in southern New Jersey),
Kay, Tabas, Niknam, DiDomenico Ophthalmology Associates (two locations in the Philadelphia area), and
Ophthalmic Associates (one location in Lansdale, Pa.).

Chesapeake Eye Care, a portfolio company of the private equity firm Centre Partners, has acquired
Malouf Eye Center, a provider of ophthalmology services based in Camp Springs, Md. Founded in 1958 by George Malouf Sr., Malouf Eye Center is now led by Dr. George Malouf Jr. and Dr. Marc Malouf. The acquisition “further expands Chesapeake Eye Care’s growing network of ophthalmology practices in the Mid-Atlantic region,” Chesapeake Eye Care noted in an announcement posted on its website. The terms of the transaction were not announced.
