CINCINNATI—CEI Vision Partners (CVP), an ophthalmology services organization, announced this week that it has added Retina Vitreous Associates (RVA) of Toledo, Ohio, as its newest partner practice under the CVP platform. RVA is a vitreoretinal surgical practice with nine ophthalmologists who specialize in medical and surgical retinal disorders, including diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, retinal vascular disease, diabetic macular edema and other retinal conditions. RVA serves patients from 10 locations throughout northwest and central Ohio, according to the announcement.

CVP was formed in May 2018 in combination with Cincinnati Eye Institute, one of the nation’s largest ophthalmology practices, and Revelstoke Capital Partners, a Denver-based private equity firm, as VMAIL reported.

“Retina Vitreous Associates is thrilled to join with other top-notch practices under the CVP banner to build upon our mutual traditions of excellence in patient care,” Nicholas J. Leonardy, MD, said in the announcement. (Dr. Leonardy is one of the physicians with the practice.)

“Together, our existing office locations now reach more than 60 percent of Ohio residents and will serve as a solid base for future growth. The CVP model, with simultaneous investment in the highest quality physicians as well as industry-leading administrative resources, will enhance our ability to continue delivering state-of-the-art patient care in the communities we serve.”

RVA is the fourth practice to partner with CVP. Cincinnati Eye Institute was the founding practice in May 2018, and Dayton Eye Associates and Retina Physicians and Surgeons joined the platform in October.

“We are excited to have RVA join us as a partner practice,” Clyde Bell, CVP’s chief executive officer, said in the announcement. “The renowned physicians of CVP provide the highest level of patient care, and with the addition of RVA, CVP now has the capability to expand these best-in-class services to patients in Toledo and other areas in central Ohio.”
