DALLAS—A funeral service will be held for Gordon E. Stone, founder of Semi-Tech, at 1:00 PM on Saturday, Oct. 28, 2017 at First United Methodist Church in Quitman, Texas. Stone passed away on Oct. 20, 2017, at the age of 92.

Stone was born in Braham, Minn. on March 12, 1925 to Christine (Oslund) and John Stone, according to the Lowe Funeral Home in Quitman. He attended schools in Braham, graduating as valedictorian. He served as a paratrooper in the U.S. Army’s 11th Airborne division during the occupation of Japan.

After graduating from business school, he worked in a variety of businesses, including the 3M Company, which transferred him to Dallas. He became owner of Semi-Tech, Inc., now known as DAC Vision. After retirement, he lived in Lake Quitman, Texas, where he was active in church and community, before moving back to Dallas.

Stone is survived by his wife of 68 years, Alice Stone; step sisters, Marilyn From and Lois Woodward; brothers in law and sister in law, David and Annette Olson and Michael Collins; two sons, Gregory Stone and wife Margie and Todd Stone; daughter, Karen Sampson and husband Terry; nine grandchildren and spouses, eight great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
