NEW YORK—Smart Vision Labs has formed a partnership with Brille24, a leading German online optical retailer. As a result of the partnership, German consumers will have quicker access to their eyeglass or contact lens prescription according to Smart Vision Labs, which offers a mobile-phone based vision exam.

Brille24 is the first international commercial partner to use Smart Vision Labs’ vision testing telemedicine platform.

“Our long-term goal is to solve the world’s vision problems by providing access to vision testing,” said Yaopeng Zhou, co-founder and CEO of Smart Vision Labs. “We are excited to partner with Germany’s leading glasses retailer to spread access to vision testing and allow more people to improve their vision through corrected lenses and education.”

Brille24 plans to use Smart Vision Exams to offer local schools and companies on-site vision exams. The company said it will evaluate how to incorporate other features of Smart Vision Labs technology into its growing glasses business.

"It is thrilling to be Smart Vision Labs’ first international partner to bring their telemedicine vision exam platform to a new market," said Christophe Hocquet, managing director of Brille24. "We look forward to working with the team as we continue to expand our business throughout Europe and to provide faster access to vision care products and services."

Brille24 said it has over one million customers in 117 countries, including online presence in Benelux, France, Portugal and Spain, and has already sold two million glasses online. The company is currently expanding its offer to Eastern Europe.
