has named Gordon Jennings, OD, as chairman of the board for a two-year term. Dr. Jennings previously served as the vice chairman. He has been in private practice in Wytheville, Virginia for more than 30 years, and has served on VSP Global’s board since 2010. BOSTON—The New England College of Optometry
(NECO) has named Erik Weissberg, OD, FAAO, as the college’s next vice president and dean of academic affairs, beginning May 1, 2019. Dr. Weissberg graduated from NECO in 1997, before going on to complete a residency in pediatrics in 1998. That same year, he was appointed assistant professor in the specialty and care advanced program at NECO and in 2009 was promoted to professor of optometry with tenure. In 2008, Dr. Weissberg was named director of clinical education, a role he has served in ever since.
