Wearer: “With the introduction of Vari, we were intent on delivering a product that would appeal to the senses,” said I & Eye co-founder, Rich Baum. Clif Browner, the other co-founder, added, “We focused this line on comfort, developing a proprietary finish that keeps frames cool to the touch.”
Specifics: The launch collection includes nine styles and more than 13 color combinations.
Selling Points: The Vari line is a study in contrasts, pairing light with dark, bright with neutral, and bold with traditional as it playfully experiments with boundaries, offering classic shapes, excellent fit, unparalleled comfort and the chance to step outside traditional lines in an exploration of color, the company said. To support the launch, I & Eye Optical has created a marketing and social media campaign intended to share the lifestyle and stories of the real people that wear Vari. #ShowusyourVari will feature stories from wearers including the young and the old, ballerinas, glam rockers, booksellers, models, jazz dancers, actors, cyclists, roller derby captains and executives.

Specifics: Seven new styles for boys and girls.
Selling Points: According to the company, the Ted Baker “Just Kidding” collection celebrates individuality with mischief and humor. For girls, the rectangular B934 displays a playful color palette subdued by a crystal front. The model also features a high definition floral print on the metal temples, while a 3D metallic logo embellishes the left temple tips. The colorful B937 has a modified rectangular frame with bright milky acetate laminated on the end piece. A metallic logo on the temple tips also adds a pop of color. For boys, the B936 features a 3-layer acetate with a colorful center that matches the metal ‘T’ hardware plaque inlay. Each “Just Kidding” style includes a matte shine finish signature plaque. In contrast, the Kate Young for Tura Kids caters to children who are more conscious about their style, the company said. With a child designed saddle bridge, the slightly over-sized square shape K900 is crafted with rich block materials and laminated colors. The classic P3 shape K901 with a keyhole bridge is also crafted with a rich block tortoise material or with gradient and milky blush acetate. Both unisex styles feature retro recessed metal pin dots and a metallic logo inside the temple. Lastly, the lightweight oio collection is fully equipped with box spring hinges, custom sizing and TitanFlex materials. The rectangular OT17 for boys has two-tone metal plating and a flat metal end piece with a memory metal temple, rubber temple tips, and a chuck memory bridge. Style OT21 blends a colorful thin metal eye rim with a flat metal brow profile. This cat-eye design also features two-tone metal plating, custom laminated tips, and flex stainless steel temples.

Sama Pays Tribute to Meryl Streep
A dozen years ago The Hours was released as a screen adaptation of the Pulitzer-prize winning book written by Michael Cunningham. The eyewear worn by Meryl Streep, one of the movie’s three stars, was the Raya from Sama Eyewear, customized for the film by the brand’s Sheila Vance. Today, Sama has updated the frame, as well as introduced the Meryl, inspired by its original, for Summer 2015. The new Meryl release is an adapted frame from the original model and is part of the Lace collection.
