Constant Contact Helps Celebrate Small Business Week With 'Get Down to Business' Events Across North America

WALTHAM, Mass.—To celebrate National Small Business Week held just last week, June 17-21, Constant Contact (NASDAQ: CTCT) hosted Get Down to Business, a nationwide series of free business-building events taking place throughout the month of June. Get Down to Business events teach small businesses how they can use email marketing and social media marketing to engage with customers and drive business success, with educational presentations and panels from Constant Contact's team of marketing experts, local email and social media marketing professionals, and other thought leaders from each participating region.

July CEing Is Believing Virtual Program and Speakers Set

Coming up next month, July 17 and July 18, is the virtual, internet-based CE conference, CEing is Believing, which will offer ECPs a program featuring expert speakers presenting 20+ hours of COPE approved courses in a variety of topic areas.

The CEing is Believing Planning Board has pulled together a diverse range of speakers delivering courses on subjects ranging from clinical advances, new technologies, practice management, digital diagnostics, instrumentation and disease management.

Phrasebook

Sometimes it's helpful to have a quick and ready reference for foreign phrases, whether it’s to enliven a website or relate to a patient or customer.

Phrasebook, on iTunes, is designed for iPhone and iPad. It is a standalone app which doesn’t rely on an Internet connection to work; information is stored offline.

Google Translate

One of the most heavily used tools/resources on the web, Google Translate enables, via a simple cut-and-paste, for the translation of paragraphs of copy or a document from one language to another. It is described on the site as a free translation service that provides instant translations between dozens of different languages. It can translate words, sentences and web pages between any combination of Google's 71 supported languages.

Association of Schools and Colleges of Optometry (ASCO)

The Association of Schools and Colleges of Optometry (ASCO) launched its new redesigned website, geared toward potential optometry school and college applicants, internal audiences, members of the media and the general population. Visitors can expect more up-to-the-minute news including information on the application process to ASCO's 21 member schools and colleges of optometry, links to ASCO's social media feeds and more.

Vision Therapy Parents Unite Launch Facebook Page

This is a new Facebook page/community for parents with children in vision therapy (VT). The page's description says, VT Parents Unite is "a group designed for passionate parents who know the huge benefits that vision therapy provides and are passionate about making sure all those who need it, know about it and can access it."

Upwardly Mobile: 91 Percent of Americans Now Own a Smartphone

For the first time since the Pew Research Center's Internet & American Life Project began systematically tracking smartphone adoption, a majority of Americans now own a smartphone of some kind. Pew's definition of a smartphone owner includes anyone who says "yes" to one—or both—of the following questions:

55 percent of cell phone owners say that their phone is a smartphone.
58 percent of cell phone owners say that their phone operates on a smartphone platform common to the U.S. market.
