Alcon's Eye Saw Good Campaign to Support Kids Vision for Life

By CLICK Staff

Alcon has launched the Eye Saw Good campaign, a charitable initiative that highlights the important role that good eye health and clear vision play in allowing people to see the world around them and live life to the fullest. Actress Jennie Garth, best known for her role on the television series "Beverly Hills, 90210," is leading the campaign to help benefit Kids Vision for Life, a charitable program that provides vision screenings, eye exams and eyeglasses to children in underserved communities in the U.S. at no cost to the family.

"We believe that every person should have access to quality vision care regardless of their economic circumstances," said Robert K. Warner, Area President U.S. and Canada, Alcon. "The Eye Saw Good campaign invites everyone to help provide access to healthy vision for children in underserved communities across the US." The campaign supports the introduction and national rollout of the THE eyeSOLUTION Program, a complete eyecare retail destination designed to help shoppers find the best care for their eyes in one convenient location. THE eyeSOLUTION Program displays began appearing in retailers across the country in May 2013, supported with Alcon's 360-degree surround-sound campaign of multi-brand FSIs, digital and radio advertising, direct mail and public relations.

During the campaign, Garth will encourage people to give the gift of good eye health and vision to children in need by visiting TheEyeSolution.com, where the simple upload and sharing of a photo of "good" can help a child in the U.S. Garth will inspire people to see good, share good, and make good happen by taking a picture when they see something good—from an act of kindness to whatever strikes you in the moment—and sharing it on Twitter with hashtag #EyeSawGood, or by going to TheEyeSolution.com. For every picture shared, Alcon will donate $1, up to $50,000, to fund more than 1,000 eye exams and eyeglasses for children in need through the Kids Vision for Life program. Visitors to TheEyeSolution.com can retrieve coupons for the eye product of their choice from contact lens care, dry eye care, lid care, allergy relief or eye vitamins.

Kids Vision for Life is a charitable program that brings together non-profit organizations, schools, businesses, and community leaders to provide vision screenings, eye exams, and eyeglasses to children, ages 5-12, at no cost to the family through mobile clinics, schools and special events in underserved communities in the U.S. It was created in 2008 by the Essilor Vision Foundation. The Alcon Foundation has partnered with the Essilor Vision Foundation for more than five years to establish the Kids Vision for Life program in every location where Alcon has a presence in the U.S.
