After more than 18 months in development, the new
British Contact Lens Association (BCLA) website has gone live. The new site is designed to raise the bar for online engagement and communication within the global contact lens community. The fully interactive site lets users create profiles and start conversations, ask questions and comment on news stories. It is easier to navigate with clearly defined sections, and incorporates the new BCLA branding and strapline – "Partnership, Leadership, Community."
Existing member resources, such as Virtual Lectures and Clinical Photo Libraries, have been retained and will be enhanced with new digital content including podcasts and webcasts via the BCLA's new YouTube channel. Members can create their own profiles, choose ‘topics’ and be notified when relevant new content is added as well as post a question on any subject and list up to three practices on the site’s "Find a contact lens practitioner" search tool.
Non-BCLA members may also register to access specific resources and view and take part in online discussions, but will have limited access to online educational and professional resources. Membership categories range from Student and Newly Qualified membership, to Online (Affiliate) and Full membership with a range of price options to suit individual needs.
