New Study Is Bullish on Growth of Smart Glasses Market

A new report by AugmentedReality.Org predicts that the smart glasses market will soar toward 1 billion shipments near the end of the decade. Atheer Selected to Join Dassault Systèmes Technology Partners Program

Atheer, a pioneer in developing mobile, gesture-controlled see-through smart glasses, recently announced that it has joined Dassault Systèmes' Technology Partners Program. The initiative will facilitate integration of the Atheer AiR platform with Dassault Systèmes' 3DExperiences platform for what the two companies call, "the ultimate next-generation 3D design experience." Through this partnership, Dassault Systèmes customers will now have the ability to view immersive 3D projects with the Atheer AiR Smart Glasses, interact with them, and collaborate with their peers in real time.

Using 3D Printing, Princeton Researchers Embed LEDs into a Contact Lens

As part of a project demonstrating new 3D printing techniques, Princeton researchers have embedded tiny light-emitting diodes into a standard contact lens, allowing the device to project beams of colored light. Although the technology is experimental, it could conceivably be used to create contact lenses with built-in displays.
