Alain Mikli Presents a New Generation of Stark Eyes BioSun Sunglasses
Quick Take: Alain Mikli and Philippe Starck have presented the new generation of biosun sunglasses which take their inspiration from the organic design technologies more suited to the human being.
Wearer: Men, architects, designers and people interested in innovation.
Specifics: Nine styles for men. Every new style features lenses made in France. Depending on the frame material (acetate, metal or injected grilamid) a complementary range of category-3 brown and grey lenses are offered. For each style, the consumer may choose between mineral or organic lenses (nylon or polycarbonate). The mineral BioSun lens was developed in partnership with the Vuarnet engineers.
Selling Points: The BioSun collection uses a Biolink temple fashioned after the human micro-clavicle, featuring micro-articulation and multidirectional freedom. Dies-stamped in a single block of stainless steel, the hinge is flexible and fluid beyond 50,000 movements and is featured on every frame in the collection. Starck also offers on their new BiosSun frames an ergonomic temple, which faces up at the point to be placed over the bone, behind the ear, removing the pressure often placed their, while still providing enough pressure to not fall off the wearer's head.

Viva Presents New Ophthalmic Styles in Skechers Eyewear
Quick Take: Viva International Group has introduced the Skechers Eyewear 2011 Spring collection ophthalmic styles infused with trendy logo treatments and vivid color combinations.
Specifics: Two new men’s and two new women’s styles.
Selling Points: Inspired by the unique graphics found in the Skechers footwear collections, the women’s eyewear collection offers a blend of fashion-forward embellishments and innovative sporty materials, including carbon fiber. Carbon fiber is used as a detail on the metal temples of styles SK 2033 and SK 2034. For men, a sleek carbon fiber inlay is also used on the temples of styles SK 3023 and 3024. An all-new assortment of marketing materials will be available this spring for men and women, including a 12-piece display, 3-piece highlighter shoe merchandising kit, small and large merchandising towers, tent counter cards, a vinyl backdrop and a one-piece frame highlighter, all featuring the brand’s new campaign images.

Ogi Eyewear Adds New Sunwear Styles for a Bright Future
Quick Take: The new collection of fashion-forward sunwear styles from Ogi Eyewear add an exciting twist to their ever-expanding line of fresh, contemporary sunwear.

ProDesign Presents the Axiom Collection
Quick Take: Axiom, which means a self-evident truth, is a new line under the ProDesign name. It is a light collection which optimizes the simplicity of the brand’s existing technologies with temples more voluminous than similar hinge-less products.
Specifics: The 6110-17 group features seven different shapes in four colors each. The 6501-04 group with four different shapes and four colors each and the 6901-04 group which also offers four different shapes in four colors each.
Selling Points: The “hinge” inspiration of the Axiom collection comes from the jewelry industry and the temple material has been developed to be strong and flexible at the same time. ProDesign is also using a new technology called PVD, which makes it nearly impossible for the color of the temples to peel.

Polaroid Eyewear Debuts 'Best Under The Sun' Heritage Sunglass Collection
Quick Take: Polaroid Eyewear, a division of StyleMark AG has debuted a new heritage sunglass collection entitled Best Under The Sun, recreating some of Polaroid Eyewear's most iconic designs from the 1930s to the 1980s.
Specifics: The collection includes ten frame designs drawn from Polaroid's archives dating from the 1930s to the 1980s. Each design has been selected as a unique representation of that particular decade and is faithfully recreated with all the meticulous detail of the original - now in the latest high-tech materials. Every style tells its own story, reflecting the keynote fashions of the time, that will have great appeal to today's consumers. Each model is available in two unique color variations.
Selling Points: From styles like “Swing” from the '30s or Rebel from the '70s, the collection is drawn from Polaroid's own design archives which dates back to 1937, recreated fully in its authentic way using high premium materials and premium polarized lenses in “iconic, individual styles for iconic, individual people.” Polaroid Eyewear showcased the Best Under The Sun collection in tandem with its exclusive premier sponsorship of the highly anticipated New York Fashion debut for Richie Sambora's new clothing line WTB Clothing.
