CooperVision Launches Biofinity Multifocal
Quick Take: CooperVision, Inc. has announced the formal U.S. launch of Biofinity Multifocal, the latest addition to the Biofinity family of monthly replacement contact lenses.

Specifics: The product combines the Biofinity Asphere and Toric lens material with proven Balanced Progressive™ Technology.

Biofinity Multifocal is currently available in the U.S. and France in sphere powers of +6.00 D to -8.00 D and in four ADD powers (+1.00, +1.50, +2.00, +2.50). A D and N lens are available for each ADD power. The product will be available in Canada later this fiscal year. CooperVision anticipates a rollout to more countries and regions in 2012. The launch of Biofinity Multifocal follows a successful product line of Biofinity Asphere and Toric lenses worldwide. Biofinity is currently CooperVision's fastest growing brand, the company said.

TOMS Intros Eyewear, the Next ‘One for One’ Product

Legacie Unveils Judith Leiber S/S 11 Collection
Quick Take: Legacie, the luxury house of B Robinson, has announced the latest eyewear collection from celebrated accessories house Judith Leiber.
Specifics: The latest eyewear collection features two new groups: Deja Vu and Icon. The collection will also feature additions to the Channel, Classics and Shanghai Lily groups and is comprised of five optical styles and five sun styles.
Selling Points: Channeling the 1950s and '60s, the Deja Vu group explores influences ranging from Marilyn Monroe to Bridget Bardot to La Dolce Vita. The JL1622, a round optical frame, and JL 1623SG, a square sunglass, boast extensive stonework on the front with contrasting minimalist temples. The Icon group harkens back to the days of sublime luxury. The JL 1626SG sunglass features a titanium butterfly inlaid with hand-cut mother of pearl. The Channel group, one of the original Judith Leiber Eyewear categories, draws its inspiration from the brand’s Chocolate Bar handbag. This season, the JL 1620, an oval optical frame, and JL 1621SG, a square sunglass, are decorated with a new translation of the traditional channel-set décor.
