Viva Debuts Catherine Deneuve Sunglass Collection
Quick Take: Viva International Group has introduced a sunglass collection into the Catherine Deneuve Lunettes.
Wearer: The new sunglasses are designed for women 55 and older who are seeking classic elegance and are trend aware, but not trend-driven.
Specifics: The new product line includes six prescription-ready sunglass styles which are inspired by the sense of style and timeless beauty of the brand’s namesake.
Selling Points: “We are pleased to add such an exclusive group of sunglass styles to this iconic collection,” said Liz Tontodonati, general manager at Viva. “There is a definite need in today’s eyewear selection to include fashionable and affordable sunglasses for the mature and stylish woman.” The frames are crafted in handmade acetate and feature stone and metal accents in a rich color palette of soft muted tones, as well as two-toned and pearl finished colorations. All six feature high quality CR-39 lenses to provide optimum sun protection. Merchandising materials include a countercard, featuring Deneuve in model CD-600, and a logo plaque.

Oakley Delivers 2012 Women's Sun Styles
Quick Take: Oakley has announced the February release of their first 2012 women’s sun styles.
Specifics: Six new sunglass styles for women.
Selling Points: Oversized and chic, Changeover has large, square lenses and a blend of color and texture, they echo the bohemian vibe of the 70s. Made from acetate with C5 temples, the style features optional gradient lens shading or polarized lenses. The Underspin is a large, faux shield sunglass made from durable, stress-resistant O Matter with the choice of polarized lenses or gradient lens shading. The Sweet Spot has large, round lenses in a lightweight, stress-resistant O Matter frame with Oakley’s Three-Point Fit and the choice of gradient or polarized lenses. The bold Overtime is a square O Matter frame with delicately sculpted temples and is the brand’s first-ever active eyewear to employ 6 base lens curvature. The Daisy Chain is a lightweight C-5 frame with a classic tear drop silhouette and adjustable nose pads. Lastly, the Urgency features rectangular lenses framed by lightweight, stress-resistant O Matter and details like the contrasting paint fill on the temples and optional polarized lenses. All six styles are available with Oakley authentic prescription sun lenses.

Modo Presents New Point-of-Purchase Program
Quick Take: Modo has launched a new in-store and window point-of-purchase program featuring a broad and creative set of materials. The imagery is taken from the latest Modo campaign, illustrating the root of inspiration behind Modo design and our philosophy of “Eyewear for the Individual.”
Specifics: The POP kit, which is made available to all Modo retailers starting this week, comes in two versions. All pieces have graphics on front & back, in order for customers to be able to view the Modo imagery from both inside and outside the store.
Selling Points: Version 1 includes a countertop display which holds five frames and features the Modo logo and corresponding campaign images on both front and back. Also included is a mesh window poster made of a woven polyester material so the retail store still gets sun light while transparency also allows for the consumer to view the images from both inside and outside the store. The assortment also contains a cube made of gloss cardstock, capturing the spirit of the brand with the Modo campaign images displayed on each side and a white acrylic logo plaque. Version 2 comes with a vinyl poster branded with two different Modo campaign images on front and back so the poster can be rotated. A counter top display made of cardboard material can hold one frame with temples open or two frames with temples closed. Both the front and back feature the Modo logo and a different campaign image on each side. Same as POP kit Version 1, Version 2 also includes a logo plaque and the display cube. A set of 4-pcs counter cards featuring the Modo image campaign can be ordered separately. Both kits come pre-assembled to be used immediately and are designed to make store display simple and easy for the retailers.

Liberty Sport Adds Color to Men's Sun Performance Styles
Liberty Sport has announced that Army Green (color #550) has been added to their top selling sunglass styles for men – the Chopper, Torque and Trailblazer. “We previewed the color on a new motorcycle style introduced last year, the Free Spirit, and the sales really took off,” said Carmine DiChiara, vice president of product development. “We are pleased to see that men are venturing out past the traditional black and tortoise colorations. The color is very wearable and a nice complement to our performance sunglass collection.”
