Altair Launches the Anne Klein Eyewear Collection
Quick Take: Altair has debuted an entirely new optical and sunglass collection from Anne Klein Eyewear. Each style revitalizes classic design and showcases the skilled craftsmanship synonymous with the Anne Klein brand.

Safilo USA Offers Polaroid Premium Collection in the U.S.
Quick Take: Polaroid Eyewear has arrived in the U.S. with a new Polaroid Premium Collection developed for the American market by the Safilo Group.
Wearer: “The U.S. represents a significant market opportunity for Polaroid as we offer consumers a wide variety of polarized sunglasses based on wearable design, high protection and perfect vision,” said Roberto Vedovotto, CEO of Safilo Group.
Specifics: The Polaroid Premium Collection, which features modern and functional styles with high quality polarized lenses at a desirable price point, includes 28 styles, 10 of which can accommodate prescription lenses. There are 14 styles for men, 11 for women and three unisex offerings in the collection.
Selling Points: The Polaroid company, founded in 1937 by Edwin Land, the inventor of polarizing lenses, celebrated 75 years in 2012. Polaroid is one of the top four global sunglass brands and sold over four million pairs of polarized sunglasses last year. Polaroid sunglasses are now being repositioned, reintroduced and re-marketed by Safilo USA in the American market. The Premium Collection includes Polaroid’s UltraSight polarized lenses manufactured in the company’s factory in Scotland based on the Thermofusion process, which delivers high-quality polarized lenses with better visual acuity.

Zyloware Releases New Randy Jackson Styles
Quick Take: Zyloware Eyewear has announced the March 2013 release of new styles from the Randy Jackson and Randy Jackson Limited Edition collections.
Specifics: Three new ophthalmic styles in the core collection, as well as three new additions to the Limited Edition collection.
Selling Points: The RJ1041 is a full rim metal frame in a rectangular shape with a metal endpiece and temple featuring a plaid-patterned embellishment. The RJ1044 is a full rim metal front in a rectangular shape with a stylish double bar bridge, metal endpiece and sleek handcrafted zyl temples; while the RJ3014 is a full rim zyl frame in a retro, rectangular shape featuring inlayed metal décor on the front and handcrafted zyl temples with metal rivets. The Limited Edition RJ X106 is a full rim zyl frame in a retro-inspired square shape with metal décor on the front as well as the handcrafted zyl temples; while the RJ X107 is a men’s full rim zyl frame in a retro-inspired rectangular shape with a diamond-shaped metal décor on front. Both styles feature spring hinges and can easily accommodate progressive lenses. Lastly, the RJ X108 was hand-picked by Randy Jackson himself and features a bold edgy look with and on-trend round shape with a Grilamid injection front and temples highlighted by a metal detail near the endpiece. WestGroupe Unveils New Fysh UK Styles
Quick Take: WestGroupe has introduced new optical styles into their Fysh UK eyewear collection for Spring 2013.
Specifics: Nine new ophthalmic styles.
Selling Points: Taking its cue from the spring fashion trends, collection highlights includes delicate lattice work and laser cut floral designs, as well as abstract and geometric patterns. Featured is model F-3492, an exotic cat eye made from handmade, translucent acetate. The abstract acetate pattern adds drama to the frame while a ribbed laser etched design adds surface interest to the temples. Morel Debuts the Lightec Alpha 17B
Morel has unveiled the Lightec Alpha 17B style, an exclusively male concept which offers new additions to the current and popular Alpha 17 collection. The Alpha 17B has a technical look with clean angles on injected rubber temples. The lightness of rubber combines with stainless steel to ensure maximum wearer comfort. The temples have been slimmed down from the original Alpha 17 design and are now 11mm instead of 13mm. The result is a cleaner, more streamlined look. High material contrast is a key design element in Alpha 17B. The rubber temples are set against the stainless steel hinge to create contrast in both material and color.
