Luxottica Introduces the Emporio Armani Eyewear Collection
Quick Take: Luxottica Group has introduced the Emporio Armani Eyewear collection for Spring/Summer 2013.
Wearer: Men and women looking for a concept of style that is impeccable but always youthful and fresh.
Specifics: Emporio Armani glasses are both modern and refined thanks to the carefully designed rubber details and unique finishes. The color range is extensive and includes more sober hues joined by light-hearted and lively pastel and metallic tints combined with mirrored lenses.
Selling Points: For women standouts include the EA4011 is a round sun in an opaque wood effect plastic, while the EA4006 are a feminine style with a ’50s cat eye inspired design in oversized nylon fiber with a double bridge and tubular metal temples. For men, the EA2003 is a re-visitation of the aviator done in metal and nylon fiber with mirrored lenses and tubular metal temples. More unisex in nature is the EA3001, a rectangular optical style typical of the ’80s but refreshed through a bi-injection process that combines the acetate front and nylon fiber flex temples with contrasting colored rubber inserts.

Aspex Launches Greg Norman Performance Collection
Quick Take: Aspex Eyewear has introduced the Greg Norman Performance collection, a companion to the Prescription and Lifestyle Sunwear collections, designed in partnership with professional golfer, Greg Norman.
Wearer: Male and female golfers and outdoor enthusiasts.
Specifics: Previously only available in golf pro shops, the collection includes 12 new sun styles, two specifically designed for women, for the optical market.
Selling Points: Highlights of the collection include the G4209, a prescription-ready men’s grilamid style that features a vented lens to increase airflow and reduce fogging, as well as no slip megol nose pads and temple tips in a matte black/brown coloration. Men’s style G4402 also comes complete with no-slip megol nose pads and temple tips, as well as a wide lens for added coverage available with brown or grey in a crystal brown tortoise or matte black grilamid frame. The Performance collection features the highest level of lens technology. The 4000 Series has High Contrast Performance lenses, the 4200 Series has Glare Control Polarized Performance lenses, the 4400 Series features Extreme Performance Lenses and 4600 Series comes with Extreme Polarized Performance Lenses, an exclusive NXT lens technology that allows for a thinner and more durable polarization than traditional film-based polarization filters.

The Romantic Heroine collection includes the Juliet Sun, which debuts with a bold color palette of Jungle, Havana purple, and Havana coral, done in enticing curves; the Ravoux Sun, which is motivated by fashions of mid-century America with an inventive twist to the traditional P3 silhouette done in neutral earth tones with a feminine curvature and chrome accents; and the Quinn Sun, which is evocative of the bold, sought-after styles worn by Jackie Onassis in the 1960s in a curvaceous oval accented by Austrian crystals and metallic embossing. Match Releases New Styles from Adrienne Vittadini
Quick Take: Match Eyewear has released four new styles from the Adrienne Vittadini collection.
Specifics: The introduction features three ophthalmic styles and one sunwear release, and takes inspiration from the light and color of the season.
Selling Points: The incorporation of premium metals and Italian acetate offer lightweight comfort while refined embellishments and careful craftsmanship maintain the effortless sophistication of the Adrienne Vittadini brand, which is targeted to women, ages 30 and up. Ophthalmic models 1086, 1108 and 1116 feature intricate laser etched filigree arms and keyhole detailing, as well as subtle Swarovski crystal accents which provide a fresh elegance that blends well with the “accessible luxury”’ of the core collection. The sun style, model 1912, offers a modern take on retro glamour by combining an oversized eye shape with narrow temples and a sculpted AV logo encircled by Swarovski crystals. Match Eyewear is featuring the recently released styles in images for their integrated marketing efforts and merchandising materials. Modo Adds Styles to Signature Collection for S/S 2013
Quick Take: Modo has added styles to their signature acetate and titanium lines, as well as introduced a new series of unique shaved acetate frames, super-thin titanium looks and two vintage pieces for Spring/Summer 2013.
Specifics: All pieces are handmade and finished in Japan; all metal styles are titanium and the plastics are chosen from the newest collections of Italian and Japanese handmade acetate each season.
Selling Points: In the 500 series, Modo introduces the Shaved Acetate collection, which contains four styles. The acetate frames have shaved accents on the brow, bridge or temples. Styles 530 and 531 have contrasting colored shaved brows, while styles 532 and 533 have contrasting colored shaved bridges and temples. The 6000 series is Modo’s Signature Acetates, this series features forward thinking shapes in brilliantly colored and textured Italian acetate in five new styles. This season, Modo debuts “The New Black”, which is a tortoise and black gradient. Modo’s Metal Collection represents three different concepts, Sculpted Titanium, Super Thin Titanium and Vintage. The 4000 series, Sculpted Titanium, displays four new looks that are a continuation from last season with interior and exterior colors and thin profiles. The Super-Thin Titanium series features three new styles. The frames are very thin and include a new temple that does not have a plastic temple tip, instead the entire temple and temple tip is titanium. Lastly, the Vintage series, the 4043 and 4044, feature two styles that represent classic Modo style in titanium.

Morel Offers the Lightec Carbon 4
Morel’s Lightec collection has rolled out the new Carbon 4 group, which features newer, slimmer, carbon temples and is fitted with the brand’s screwless Alpha spring-hinge. Carbon 4 is available in two models with polyurethane rubber fronts molded over a stainless steel structure, as well as four versions with stainless steel fronts. Polyurethane rubber is also used inside the temples to provide comfort, while carbon is visible on the outside. The combination of these three materials, married with the slimness of the temples, gives the frame boldness, flexibility, durability and comfort. Juxtaposed against the carbon’s anthracite tones, new rubber colors are available in lime green, white, grey, navy blue and brown, as well as the previously available orange and red.

Aquaviz Bows Prescription Dive and Swim Masks
