Zimco Re-launches Kidco Collection

CooperVision Avaira Toric Expands Parameters
Quick Take: CooperVision is launching additional parameters with plus powers for the Avaira Toric contact lens brand worldwide while expanding its market availability.
Specifics: The company has expanded Avaira toric lens parameters with new +0.25D to +6.00D sphere powers to correct for hyperopia. These new options join the existing parameter range, including sphere powers of plano to -6.00D in 0.25 steps; -6.50D to -10.00D in 0.50 steps; cylinder powers of -0.75, -1.25, and -1.75; and axes from 10 degrees to 180 degrees in 10 degree steps. Avaira lenses with Aquaform Comfort Science – in addition to their naturally wettable properties – also incorporate a high level of oxygen transmissibility (125 Dk/t sphere, 91 Dk/t toric), rounded edges that promote minimal lid interaction, and a smoother lens surface, the company said. All Avaira toric lenses feature optimized lens geometry, uniform horizontal ISO thickness and wide ballast design, plus a larger toric optic zone. An ultraviolet radiation blocker helps protect wearers' eyes, limiting 75 percent of UVA and 99 percent of UVB rays.
Selling Points: Approximately one-third of potential contact lens wearers require astigmatic correction. The company notes the newly expanded Avaira toric lens range now covers more than 90 percent of astigmats. "We're forecasting triple-digit percentage sales increases for Avaira toric lenses against our historic baseline, which we attribute to growing practitioner appreciation of excellent comfort benefits, outstanding visual acuity, and superior patient satisfaction ratings," said Dennis Murphy, executive vice president, global sales and marketing, CooperVision. L'Amy America Debuts New Nicole Miller Styles
Quick Take: L’Amy America, part of Groupe TWC‐L’Amy, has launched new styles for summer in the Nicole Miller brand.
