Arnette Launches First Optical Collection
Quick Take: Arnette Eyewear has introduced a new collection of optical frames featuring bold colorways and unique style details mixed with some of the legacy styles that created the brand's following early on.
Wearer: Built on a foundation of promoting self-expression, the Arnette Optical Collection consists of styles that not only enhance vision, but complement the personal style of men and women age 15 to 25 years old.
Specifics: Handcrafted from rich acetate, with features such as flexible spring hinges designed to increase comfort and fit, Arnette’s four fashion-forward optical frames are built to meet the highest standards of form and function, the company said.
Selling Points: Additional characteristics include a progressive-friendly range (available from +2.00 to -7.00), signature temple tips that consists of an A-wing metal inlay on the inside right temple tip of all frames and a rich logo treatment. The iconic Arnette wordmark temple logo sits flush on the temple and is coated with a premium varnish. Branded frame boards for merchandising purposes are available to ECPs.

L’Amy America Debuts New Nicole Miller Styles
Quick Take: Following in the footsteps of Nicole Miller’s successful “Storm Versailles” runway presentation for Spring 2014, L’Amy America, part of Groupe TWC‐L’Amy, has introduced new styles for Spring 2014.
Specifics: Five ophthalmic and six new sunglass styles which reflect Nicole Miller’s spring runway aesthetic.
Selling Points: “The new sunglass and optical styles were totally inspired by Nicole’s ‘Storm Versailles’ Spring 2014 runway show where the geometric patterns were inspired by Versailles’ intricate garden mazes,” said Cheryl Canning, Nicole Miller brand manager. “Subtle embellishments, a clean graphic sharpness and feminine silhouettes are the hallmarks of the collection, and the new styles typify the Nicole Miller aesthetic beautifully.” Highlights of the ophthalmic collection include the Ann style which features an easy to wear metal front enhanced by acetate temples with two rows of four raised metal dots; and the Bond style which has textured temples and frame design marking the end of the temple where it joins the front evoke Nicole’s geometric spring runway collection. Standouts of the Nicole Miller sunglass collection are the Monroe, a cut‐out cat eye shape that is enhanced by deep, rich colors and a geometric temple with three metal dots, and the Lafayette sunglass which is executed in a modern cat eye shape with jewel embellishments, multi‐tone colors and a metal temple treatment softened by crystals.

ClearVision Revitalizes Cole Haan for Spring

Marcolin Bows Spring/Summer Timberland Line
Quick Take: The Spring Timberland collection from Marcolin focuses on style and performance, the brand’s unique design formula that is considered when designing and producing all of its products, the company said.
Specifics: Five new sun styles, including of two Earthkeepers styles, which are made of 55 percent bio-based plastic, and three new ophthalmic styles.
Selling Points: This season especially embraces the “style” aspect presenting sleek, more everyday frames that still maintain their ability to hold up to the elements. The grouping is a lifestyle collection that merges authentic craftsmanship with modern accents to produce designs that make wearers feel connected to the past but also of-the-moment. In sun, the Tilton (TB9058) is a simplified aviator with a metal frame with rubberized temples and polarized, anti-reflective lenses. The Somerville (TB9062) is one of several all-acetate frames and represents the classic square shape and polarized lenses. The Richmont (TB9063), one of the Earthkeepers, features a rectangular shape; while the Pembroke (TB9068) pays homage to the signature Timberland style with a wrap-around shape and thicker, flexible temples and is also part of the Earthkeepers line. For the optical collection, refined comfort is the focus. Styles are lightweight and simple, without ornamentation. The TB1540 is a modern rectangular-shaped frame in acetate with subtle metal temples. A similar but softer style is TB1541, with a slight rounded rectangular shape; while the TB1280 is a semi-rimless metal frame.
