Mykita Debuts Mykita First Children’s Collection
Quick Take: Mykita has launched the Mykita First stainless steel eyewear collection for kids and teens.
Wearer: Designed for children from eight years old, the seven unisex models are fashionably fun in form and vibrant in color, the company said.
Specifics: The collection includes four optical and three sunglass options in classic eyewear shapes, such as rounded, panto, cat eye, pilot and rectangular designs.
Selling Points: According to the company, Mykita’s in-house design team worked with a group of children from the Mykita Haus to ensure ergonomic specification of young faces and early tastes of young minds were met. As a result the frames are adjustable, sturdy, lightweight and sealed with a rubber coating to provide a robust and scratch-resistant surface. To add a dash of fun, selected models include brightly colored temple tips. Combining image and illustration, the Mykita First campaign exudes energy and youthfulness. All styles come in a durable slime-line case with a magnetic clasp for easy accessibility. The collection is available at Mykita shops, selected optician and fashion stores.

Conant Lens Launches UV++
Quick Take: Conant Lens is introducing UV++, a lens that blocks shorter wavelength light. Exposure to this spectrum of blue light, which is emitted from digital devices, can cause eye strain, blurred vision, dry eyes and retinal damage.
Wearer: UV++ lenses are made from an in-monomer material that blocks harmful blue and ultraviolet light. Since the material itself blocks blue light, the lens retains the property as long as it is in use. The lenses let the healthier blue-turquoise light in, which helps in proper color perception, good attention levels and wakefulness.
Specifics: UV++ lenses are available in finished single-vision with Crystalux super hydrophobic AR, and in semi-finished single vision. Materials include Hi‐Vex, 1.60 MR‐95, 1.67 MR‐10.
Selling Points: “Positioning this product is easy and practical,” noted Chris Landers, director of sales, North America, for Conant Lens Inc. “UV++ in-monomer technology allows a seamless solution offering full UV 400 protection as well as a reduction in short wavelength light transmission, specifically 400 to 420 nm. And, compared to many blue blocking lenses that have an obvious tint or coating, UV++ is virtually clear.”

Prodesign Adds New Essential Collection Models
Prodesign has added four new styles to their Essential Collection, models 1744-1747.
According to the company, the “natural” look is still a very important trend, one of the materials of the new styles is horn. Prodesign has made three shapes as combination styles and one as full acetate, all feature rivets completes the retro theme.
On the temples, the front part and the tip are connected by lamination using a new technique of rubbing of the materials against each other instead of using chemi¬cals.
