iCoat Intros Indigo, Blue Light Filtering AR Coating
Quick Take: iCoat Company has developed Indigo, a new blue light filtering anti-reflective coating.
Wearer: Indigo AR features selective blue light blocking technology that helps minimize high-energy blue-violet light thereby reducing digital eye strain and visual discomfort caused by harmful blue light while allowing “good” blue light to pass through the lens for increased visual acuity and clarity.
Specifics: iCoat's anti-reflective coatings combine ion-impacted static-neutral anti-reflective technology with high scratch resistance. All anti-reflective coating processes take place in a vacuum chamber that ensures precise control of all parameters of the coating layers. Marcolin Debuts Tom Ford Winter Collection
Quick Take: Marcolin has released the fall/winter Tom Ford collection with vintage-inspired eyewear embellished with modern details for 2015-2016.
Specifics: The collection features classic shapes with new architectural forms and minimalist lines with innovative design elements and soft color contrasts in bold shades.
Selling Points: Highlights from the Tom Ford optical collection include two feminine acetate frames, TF5353 and TF5358 that merge refined style and elegant lines into square or rounded shapes. The oversized TF5359 and TF5360 sport an unconventional angular shape with geometric elements for the daring Tom Ford woman, the company said. For men, the acetate aviator of TF5346 contrasts with an ultra-slender metal bridge, whereas classic rectangular designs include the acetate TF5355 and acetate TF5351 with metal temples. According to the company, the unisex optical frames are equipped with high-tech Barberini lenses for superlative quality. In sun, the Joan fuses two frame fronts for a distinctly architectural look. While the square rims of Ivana are cut from faceted acetate and cast in subtly nuanced colors, the exaggerated acetate shape with metal rims of Lola elevate its cat eye shape. The Iva features a new minimalist version of the crisscross front. For men, the Dalton is an acetate aviator designed with a cutting-edge, collapsible magnetic frame and the rectangular shape of the London is enhanced by metal rims with a T logo. The unisex Ryder and Marcello sunglasses offer two ways to wear metal wraparound frames.
