Mad Vision Launches New iHuman Collection
Quick Take: Inspired by the concept of creating beautiful products that are efficient and practical, Mad Vision has launched the iHuman collection of adaptable eyewear which uses the highest quality of manufacturing and the latest advancements in technology, the company said. Wearer: The iHuman collection launches with the Pocket Series, high-end optical frames that are functional, compact and lightweight; and the OffLimit series, rubber-metal glasses which use Cordan technology to withstand the toughest impacts and take all sorts of bending and twisting. Specifics: Both series feature micrometric hinges that provide movement, fluidity and FlexiSolid, a copper, aluminum, beryllium, manganese and tungsten alloy. Selling Points: Designed with the idea of downsizing, each Pocket Series frame fits into a case about the size of a smartphone. By reducing size and bulk, the compact case easily fits into a pants pocket. The Pocket Series is designed, manufactured and assembled entirely in France with seven patent design elements. The series also offers a retractable frame, embedded hinges, notched hinge pins and a multi base nose. In the OffLimit series, in addition to Cordan, the frames feature a UHP (ultra high pressure) punched top bar, Aélon, a new plastic developed from nylon with exceptional properties; and weight distribution technology that transfers the weight across the frame. Kate Spade by Safilo Presents Winter Collection
Quick Take: Inspired by a box of chocolates and sweets, Safilo has launched the Kate Spade Fall/Winter 2015-2016 Eyewear Collection of fun, playful optical and sun styles reinforced by classic shapes and modern graphic elements. Specifics: Two optical and four sun styles for women. Selling Points: In optical, a cutaway end piece adds visual interest to the Larianna cat eye frame, while a floral print appears on the inside of each wavy temple. Made of handmade acetate, the frame features the phrase “Boys make passes at girls in glasses” on the inside right temple. Inspired by the brand’s handbags, the metal Melonie wayfarer frame boasts elegant bow-like temples with flex hinges and nose pads for additional comfort. In sun, each style is inscribed with the greeting “Hello Sunshine” on the inside right temple and the spade logo on the outer left temple. The Makenzie aviator and oversized rectangular Scottie feature a hammered metal effect around the eye rim reminiscent to a shiny candy wrapper. Both sunglasses are available in sweet candy colors. Also in sun, the Amberly and Jakalyn showcase sophisticated wavy temples in handmade acetate. While the Amberly is a cat eye frame with a floral print lining the interior temples, the rectangular front of Jackalyn exposes a cutaway end piece that reveals a hidden layer of glitter. Kenmark Expands Original Penguin Eyewear
Quick Take: Kenmark has introduced new vintage-inspired styles with unexpected pops of color and details to the Original Penguin Eyewear collection. For this collection, custom acetates and throwback metals create classic eyewear with all the advantages of modern engineering. Specifics: Four new optical styles for men. ClearVision Bows New Aspire Styles
Quick Take: ClearVision Optical introduces its latest Aspire Eyewear collection of next generation fashion forward frames featuring several new color techniques, trendy temple designs and sizes for hard to fit patients. Specifics: Featuring seven different temple designs, the collection includes six new styles for women and six for men with some crossover frames. Selling Points: The Aspire collection is created with SDN-4, an incredibly thin, lightweight and hypoallergenic material that offers comfort and adjustability to the wearer. Morel Releases the Sohal from Koali
Koali from Morel has released the new Sohal. Inspired by the surgeonfish of the same name, luminous color combinations blend acetate and metal with a bright horizontal stripe extending the length of the frame’s temple for an oceanic concept. Subtle and light, the entire design of this concept is clearly derived from its source of inspiration, the company said. Available in both triple-layered handcrafted acetate and stainless steel fronts, contrasting colors highlight the eyes, extending onto beveled temples. Götti Unveils W/S 16 Titanium Collection
New for Winter/Spring 2016 Götti has introduced three new styles to their Titanium Collection. The Taku, Tajo and Tamal models are feather-light and feature prominent shapes with a round panto that gives them a strong retro touch. The flat metal used gives these styles an ultra-light look and mirrors a cool urban character, the company said. The titanium models are unisex and are available in black/light gray, black-light green and black/orange.
