Specifics: Approximately one in five pairs of lenses sold today are segmented multifocals, and a majority of those are bifocals. “Despite growing demand for progressive and digital designs, there is still a significant demand in the market for segmented lenses,” said Catherine Rauscher, global director for lenscaster partners, Transitions Optical. “Offering patients a choice of color in the leading photochromic technology will allow eyecare professionals to meet this demand and enhance their patients’ satisfaction.”

Specifics: The two new styles are designed by Liberty Sport to offer a solution for young athletes that do not wear protective eyewear under their helmet due to fit or fogging issues.
Selling Points: New to Liberty Sport’s helmet compatible line is Sport Shift, an easily interchangeable frame that has both goggle and temple attachments, offering two frames in one. The Sport Shift features endpiece cut outs for better ventilation and peripheral vision, and an adjustable goggle strap that contours over the ears for a more comfortable fit.
For a sleek comfortable under helmet fit, Helmet Spex offers a sport protective solution with soft rubber endpieces, contouring straps and vented eye rims. Included with Helmet Spex and Sport Shift is a newly designed three-panel skullcap that must be worn over the goggles and under the helmet in order to keep the goggles in place. Both are 100 percent Rx-able, offering a superior, yet versatile sport vision product while also meeting or exceeding ASTM F803 impact resistance standards for several sports.
