Barton Perreira Introduces New Allied Metal Works Brand
Quick Take: After redefining style and elegance since 2007, Barton Perreira has introduced its newest brand of optical and sun styles called Allied Metal Works. Created by veterans of design, fashion and function over the course of four years, the collection will truly stand as the first “technical luxury” brand in eyewear, the company said. Wearer: The collection appeals to a fashion audience with an appetite and appreciation for technical design. Specifics: The first collection from Allied Metal Works will consist of 20 stainless steel frame styles with the distinguishing screwless hinge and handmade zyl detailing. Selling Points: With a shared passion and vision for innovative technology, CEO Bill Barton partners with technical design advisor, Gunnar Gunnarsson after he introduced his concept of a screwless eye frame to Barton. “The collection combines the worlds of fashion and technology,” said Gunnarsson. “For us this a true step into the future.” Gunnarsson’s revolutionary hinge holds the frame together with a durable stainless steel spring. In combination with creative visionary and designer Patty Perreira’s forward thinking and signature attention to design, the two worlds of technical innovation and luxury collide to create the perfect blend of style and efficiency. “With Allied Metal Works, it was my focus to create frames that were both useful and beautiful,” said Patty Perreira. “It was important for me not to compromise design for function and vice versa.” Price Guide: $$$$$ www.bartonperreira.com

Marcolin's Swarovski Eyewear Intros New Optical Styles
Swarovski Eyewear has announced the addition of three new optical styles to its collection. These original offerings include a wide range of shapes, materials and colors, varying from traditional tones to more modern shades. Made from lightweight metal, the Game (SK5168) is feminine and elegant with its cat eye design. The front’s sinuous silhouette is complemented by the alternation between a satin finish surface on the upper and a fine profiling on the lower. A collection of baguette crystals covers the three-dimension geometric motif and accentuates the temples. The front of Grey (SK5171) is defined by its clean lines that create a rectangular shape, while the temples shimmer under lights because of metal inserts covered with crystal rocks. The Grazia (SK5174) is dedicated to the women who want to stand out. Using a crystal fabric technique, the cat eye silhouette is highlighted by micro-crystals placed along the edges of the front to enhance the look. us.marcolin.com
