Oliver Peoples Unveils Takahiro Miyashita Collaboration
More Images |
Specifics: Two unisex styles, one optical and one sunglass, to be released in the Resort/Spring 2012 Collection.
Selling Points: TheSoloIst. mainline collection is recognized for artistic tailoring of layers, contrasting materials, and distinctive aged effects. These elements, combined with Oliver Peoples’ vintage aesthetic, have resulted in a collaboration of two unisex styles, The SoloIst.-Round and The SoloIst.-Teardrop, constructed under a “salvage” philosophy. When possible, stock parts from vintage eyewear were incorporated into the design; when original parts could not be located, classical techniques with the original tooling was used. The finished product is a masterpiece of old and new – vintage and vintage-inspired. The two frames are complimentary double-bridge designs, featuring contrasting colors and finishes of the handmade acetate top-bar and temples paired with antiqued metal, including brushed silver, pewter, and a new variegated blend of antique gold and silver. Liberty Sport’s Autofit Features Unique Nose Bridge Design
More Images |
Specifics: The first of the 2011 Sun Performance styles to utilize this technology is the Liberty Sport Chaser. The Chaser is a general/cycling frame that is Rx’able and also features a pierced eyewire design, allowing for additional airflow. Eight-base premium sun lenses and a raised eye rim backlip provide additional lens retention. The Chaser is available in five colors: shiny white, shiny black, shiny gunmetal, olive and tortoise; the shiny black and tortoise are also available with polarized lenses. Liberty Sport will be launching other sun performance styles throughout 2012 utilizing Autofit technology.
Selling Points: Each sunglass wearer’s nose bridge is unique and can vary in size and width. This difference can make sunglasses designed for an average bridge either uncomfortably tight or so loose that the sunglass does not sit correctly on the wearer’s face. The Liberty Sport Autofit nose bridge design accommodates this variance by allowing one frame bridge to automatically customize to each individual wearer’s bridge shape The dual channel nosepad design helps to increase airflow and prevent moisture buildup on the inside of the lens.
