Safilo Unveils Fendi with Thierry Lasry Capsule
More Images |
Specifics: The collection features two designs, Fanny and Sylvy.
Selling Points: The capsule collection was inspired by graphic designs from the late 80’s and early 90’s from the Fendi archives, selected by Silvia Venturini Fendi and Thierry Lasry. “I loved working with Fendi because I was really struck by their culture of perfection and savoir-faire and because we have in common the same artistic approach to the creation,” said Lasry. “Working with Silvia has been an amazing experience as she left me free to express in the capsule collection.” Fanny and Sylvy’s frame fronts are made in 8mm acetate, which gives its layers a translucent effect and depth, and their temples are made in 6mm acetate. The metal cores inside of the temples are engraved on both sides; while inside of the temples, the letter Y is heat pressed in white, representing the last letters of the Lasry’s first and last name. The two designs were created in two color variations that feature a dominant color mixed with two other colors, creating a strong contrast between the three. Fanny is a cat-eye sunglass, with a Kinetic pattern, and the Sylvy is a squared sunglass with a cubist pattern. Each sunglass frame comes with an original pouch with a cubist pattern.
