Topcon Medical Introduces CL-300 Computerized Lensmeter

Top Line: Topcon Medical Systems is introducing its new CL-300 Computerized Lensmeter to the U.S. and Latin American markets. The CL-300 is the latest generation of Topcon computerized lensmeters. Its compact, ergonomic design and intuitive touch screen panel, ensures that eyecare practitioners and technicians obtain comprehensive data and accurate measurements easily and quickly.
Close Up: Incorporating many of the features from previous Topcon lensmeters, the CL-300 adds several new features including a new UV transmittance measurement function that provides reliable measurement results for eyeglasses and sunglasses in the range of 0 percent to 100 percent. The new multifocal lens measurement ensures that mono- and multifocal lenses can be easily measured, and the CL-300 also features automatic detection for single and progressive lenses.
The CL-300 incorporates the green-light reading beam, which enhances lens measurement precision. It also offers improved lens support, enabling smooth and trouble-free measurement of high-curve lenses.
Vital Stats: Available in two models, the CL-300P and the CL-300PDL allowing PD measurements, the CL-300 has a fast, easy-to-load printer and a large 5.7 inch monitor, and can be easily connected to the Topcon CV-5000S Computerized Vision Tester and to EMRs.

Augen Optics Updates Website for Expanded Audience

Top Line: Augen Optics has updated its website to highlight its latest offerings and address the interests of a broader audience in the U.S. and internationally. Changes to the site include the addition of regional links for Canada and China on the home page of the Augen website at www.AugenOptics.com, as well as direct links to a dedicated website for the company’s award-winning Vigeo eyewear for kids.
Close Up: The company has also incorporated more information about its free-form offerings on its updated website. Optical laboratories that want to learn more about the company’s patented EasyForm digital surfacing equipment will find a dedicated page as well as direct links to a more comprehensive EasyForm website. Plus, Augen has incorporated information about its HDRx free-form lenses and its new lens-and-frame package offerings in the Products section of the site.

BPI Debuts Deep Blue Zee

Top Line: Recent studies have shown that certain blue tints such as BPI Deep Blue Zee are helpful for people with light sensitive epilepsy.
