Santinelli Intros Compact, Economical Edging Station
|
Top Line: Santinelli International is introducing its most compact and economical lens finishing system to date, the LE-700 Edging Station. The unit’s simple design and attractive pricing will appeal especially to ECPs with space and budget limitations, the company said.
Close Up: “Next-step” wizard technology takes the operator step-by-step through the tracing, blocking, edging and grooving process, utilizing a color touch display. The reliable, space-saving unit introduces “tracer-free” technology, measuring demo lenses and patterns within the processing chamber. In addition to tracing the demo lens circumference, its front curve is measured to obtain 3D tracing data and perform accurate 3D edging.
Vital Stats: The option to add-on a front-loading frame tracer which handles high-wrap frames is also available. Its low measurement pressure minimizes frame distortion, assuring a high degree of accuracy. An intelligent blocker is integrated into the sleek design of the LE-700, delivering accurate and consistent blocking results.

New Feature for M&S Smart System Provides Greater Accuracy, Less Patient Frustration
|
Top Line: M&S Technologies is expanding the already comprehensive features of its Smart System with the addition of the Harris CS and VA tests.
Close Up: The Harris Contrast Sensitivity and Visual Acuity tests are designed to achieve threshold visual acuity and contrast sensitivity faster than conventional tests. Developed at the request of Paul A. Harris, OD, a noted optometrist, researcher and teacher, this protocol begins at the edge of Visual Acuity and Contrast Sensitivity Function and arrives at norm twice as quickly as top-down algorithms.
Vital Stats: Rather than taking up valuable time with "easy" targets, the Harris tests start below threshold and quickly work up. The result is faster test times, greater accuracy, and less patient frustration.
