DigiSight Technologies Debuts Paxos Suite of Products for Remote Patient Care

Top Line: DigiSight Technologies, a digital health company developing mobile solutions designed to engage patients and help physicians improve care and clinical outcomes, is launching Paxos, a suite of products for remote patient care.
Close Up: The Paxos product suite includes:
- A cloud-based portal that creates an outcomes-focused patient profile from data united from multiple sources in real time.
- A mobile application called Paxos Checkup, the company’s flagship vision assessment tool, available on both iOS and Android. A physician-prescribed vision testing application, Paxos Checkup offers patients multiple vision assessments, including a clinically validated visual acuity test and a dynamic Amsler grid. The app enables patients to test their visual function at home and share results automatically and securely with their physician(s).
- Paxos Scope, a hardware add-on with a mobile application that allows health care providers to capture ophthalmic photographs of patients anywhere. Paxos Scope is the first and only combined anterior and posterior segment mobile imaging system available for smartphones, incorporating advanced technology licensed from Stanford University. This cost-efficient system features secure storage, a built-in variable intensity light source for patient comfort and a universal mounting and alignment mechanism that can yield up to a 56-degree static field of view.
- Paxos Analytics, which enables real-time insight on clinical study outcomes with high frequency longitudinal data not previously available, will be launched in 2016.

KDDI R&D Lab's Remote Field Support System Enabled for Vuzix M100 Smart Glasses
Top Line: Vuzix Corp., working with KDDI R&D Laboratory of Japan, has developed a custom remote support software application for Android-based Vuzix M100 Smart Glasses. KDDI R&D Lab is a subsidiary of KDDI Corp., a leading provider of international telecommunications services.
Close Up: The KDDI R&D Labs' solution leverages the camera and head mounted display of the Vuzix M100 Smart Glasses to overlay Augmented Reality (AR) images on the user's real-time view to aid in remote support applications. Technicians can work more efficiently and hands-free by viewing the AR image on the M100, as opposed to holding a smartphone or tablet to view the screen.
Vital Stats: Beginning on December 1, 2015, this software application will be offered as optional function to the Vista Finder Mx, KDDI R&D Labs' remote support system currently sold in Japan. Vista Finder Mx is capable of broadcasting live video taken by smart phone, tablet, mobile PC, and now on Vuzix M100 Smart Glasses, safely and at high quality on any network connection.
