Topcon’s 3D OCT-1 Maestro Receives FDA Clearance
Top Line: Topcon Medical Systems announced that the 3D OCT-1 Maestro has received FDA clearance and is now available for sale in the U.S.
Close Up: The 3D OCT-1 Maestro System combines a high resolution color non-mydriatic retinal camera with the latest spectral domain OCT technology. The rotating touch panel and fully automated (alignment, focus and capture) operation make the 3D OCT-1 Maestro a diagnostic solution for clinical practices of all sizes. PinPoint Registration properly indicates the location of the OCT image within the fundus image. A 12mm x 9mm scan along with automated segmentation provides measurement and topographical maps of the optic nerve and macula with reference database in one scan. The 3D OCT-1 Maestro also features a compare function, as well as automatic segmentation of RNFL, total retina, GCL + IPL, and GCL + IPL + RNFL with extensive reference database.

Ocuco and EGMA Introduce Lens Design Software and Customized PALs
Top Line: ECPs can now customize lenses individually by each patient’s lifestyle, with new progressive lens options and innovative software, through a partnership between EGMA and Ocuco.
Close Up: EGMA LLC lab and Ocuco have partnered to manufacture progressives utilizing Ocuco’s proprietary software, Contour. Contour’s Adaptive Design Technology (ADT) selects a lens design based on each patient’s unique lifestyle needs, individually adapting the lens for the best possible vision utilizing the selectmylens.com website.
ECPs can now add more value for all their progressive lens wearer, gaining greater leverage and competitive advantage in a market where it is increasingly difficult to differentiate.

The X500 is personalized by individual measurements for the as worn individual measurement, and now the X700 Contour ADT is the perfect extension, allowing all the benefits of X500 with further individualization by preference and lifestyle.”
