Primary Eyecare Network Launches Online Education Portal
Top Line: The Primary Eyecare Network (PEN), a division of ABB Optical Group, announced the launch of a new online portal designed to provide eyecare practitioners and paraoptometric staff with on-demand webinars and continuing education classes.
Close Up: Available on PEN’s website, the portal features a variety of courses including certified classes that offer continuing education credits upon completion. The portal also offers users specific education tracks in subjects such as opticianry, compliance and human resources.
“We understand how difficult it can be for optometrists, opticians and office staff to fit continuing education courses into their busy schedules," said PEN senior director of operations, Matt Oliver. "Our new online education portal allows them to take classes when it's most convenient for them, whether that's at work, at home or on the road during a business trip."
Among the benefits of the online educational portal is that a user's course history is tracked in one convenient location, which can accessed at any time.
Vital Stats: The portal is open to PEN members and non-members alike. Courses are billed on a per-class basis. The cost is $15 per class for PEN members and $25 for non-members.
