Sometimes it's helpful to have a quick and ready reference for foreign phrases, whether it’s to enliven a website or relate to a patient or customer.
Phrasebook, on iTunes, is designed for iPhone and iPad. It is a standalone app which doesn’t rely on an Internet connection to work; information is stored offline. The app is a talking, illustrated phrasebook, which translates English words and phrases into 30 languages, although French and Japanese are included for free, the others require in-app purchases. The app offers users the ability to communicate without any special language skills, as it can simply speak the translation as required. The app features more than 2,200 of the most common phrases and words of each language, categorized by topic. One can search to look up phrases with keywords.
