CALGARY, Alberta—FYidoctors, an optometrist-owned eyecare company based here, announced this week that Wharncliffe Optometry, located in London, Ontario, has joined the FYidoctors family of eyecare practices. Wharncliffe Optometry is “a cutting-edge and progressive practice, equipped with a wide range of diagnostic technology, an impressive selection of designer and exclusive label frames,” according to the announcement. Wharncliffe Optometry, with three on-site optometrists, has been providing service to the residents of London, Ontario, for more than 40 years and has plans to renovate in two to three years to further accommodate the growing community, the announcement noted.

FYidoctors also said this additional location adds to the company’s growing presence and “demonstrates continued commitment to the southwestern Ontario region.”

“London, Ontario, is a key market for us, continuing the FYidoctors brand expansion into southern Ontario,” Dr. Alan Ulsifer, chairman and chief executive officer of FYidoctors, said in the announcement. “The addition of Wharncliffe Optometry under the FYidoctors brand improves our patient relationships as well as continues our brand story of optimal, patient-focused eyecare available to more people in Canada. FYidoctors is currently the world’s largest doctor-owned provider of ophthalmic products and services, with over 450 optometrists servicing over 175 locations.

“Our OD’s have all been involved in optometry associations or college throughout our 40 years of practice,” Dr. McLeod, said in the announcement. “We look to FYidoctors to aid us in providing the continued resources and collective knowledge to give our patients the highest level of care possible.”
