CRESTON, Iowa—Precision Optical Group, based here, (POG) has acquired Precise Optical, a full service laboratory located in San Angelo, Texas. Details of the transaction were not disclosed. POG’s investment in Precise Optical will further improve on the lab’s turn time and will better serve customers in the Southwest region, POG said in a statement. POG noted that San Angelo, which is located in West Texas, has a population of over 100,000, enabling Precise Optical to create a quality work force.

“This is a great lab with exceptional people,” said POG owner Mike Tamerius said, adding that Precise Optical’s management team, including general manager Dani Ricks, production manager Justin Bartlett and customer service manager Lynn Valadez, will remain in place.

Tamerius noted that Precise Optical has several long-term dedicated employees who have with over 120 years of combined optical experience. “We are looking forward to providing them with the resources and tools to fully develop the business.” He said both labs are working closely together in order to provide top quality products with a quick turnaround time.
