The unforgettable true story chronicles the tumultuous three-month period in 1965, when King led a dangerous campaign to secure equal voting rights in the face of violent opposition. Bradley Cooper stars in the blockbuster hit American Sniper, a film that has garnered six Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture and Best Actor for Cooper. Emma Stone stars in another one of the Academy's Best Picture nominees, Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance). A black comedy drama film directed by Alejandro González Iñárritu and starring Michael Keaton, both of whom garnered their own award nods.
