HONG KONG—Okia, the Hong Kong-based eyewear materials company, will be hosting a 2018 Eyewear Summit, “See the Future,” in collaboration with WGSN, the style trend service, during Mido 2018. Held at the renovated Okia booth, “See the Future,” which is geared for manufacturers, suppliers, buyers, designers and editors will unveil key trends and innovations for the coming season and the future of eyewear, the company said. The 2018 Eyewear Summit will be done with the exclusive participation of Helen Sac, director in Asia Pacific for WGSN.

“With over 10 years of experience across continents and cultures, Helen develops bespoke consulting projects that define how trends impact brands and consumers. She contributes creative direction for fast-fashion, high-street multiples globally and has added insight to the design and research process of major international brands and retailers, including VF Corp, Samsung, Meters/Bonwe and Shiseido & Disney,” the company said.

Okia’s events will be held during different dates at Mido. On Feb. 24 and Feb. 26, the SS19 Key Trends and Upcoming Technology and Innovation workshops will take place. On Feb. 25, before the traditional press conference, the Highlight of Eyewear Summit 2018 workshop will take place and offer a roundup of 10 big ideas in terms of trends and innovation.
